AfriForum Youth offers Tuks students self-defence training
On Wednesday 31 August the AfriForum Youth branch of the University of Pretoria (UP) presented self-defence classes for students.
According to Jaco Grobbelaar, AfriForum Tuks Coordinator, the training was a huge success.
“AfriForum Youth believes that all people, in this case students, should have the ability to defend themselves. One can get into a dangerous situation at any time, whether on or away from campus, so it is important for us as youth organisation to teach these skills to students,” says Grobbelaar.
He adds that the youth organisation is planning many more similar self-defence sessions on the campus.
“We do not only want to teach students how to defend themselves, but also how to be prepared and to make sure that they do not end up in dangerous situations.”
