AfriForum Youth yesterday lodged a formal complaint against prof. Dan Kgwadi, the vice chancellor of the North West University, for inciting public violence. This comes after Kgwadi encouraged hundreds of students at a public meeting of #ReformPIK on Tuesday to fight.<\/p>\n
He told students \u201cI encourage you to fight\u201d after the #ReformPIK group demanded the removal of Afrikaans and the Totius statue from the Potchefstroom campus.<\/p>\n
\u201cKgwadi may be regarded by certain people as a violence inciter. By encouraging students to fight, he adds to the polarisation of different cultural groups on campus. His political agenda causes racial tension,\u201d said Ian Cameron, spokesperson for AfriForum Youth.<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
A case against Kgwadi for inciting public violence will now be investigated. Cameron explained that Kgwadi\u2019s actions are contrary to the Constitution and the Criminal Procedure Act, and added that Kgwadi is busy fuelling racial and cultural hatred without thinking about the consequences of his words.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
