The Jan Marais Nature Reserve celebrates its 103<sup>rd<\/sup> anniversary this year and is even older than the university, which has its centenary celebrations this year.<span id=\"more-42813\"><\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThe maintenance of heritage sites is very dear to AfriForum and it is important to us to conserve these areas for future generations,\u201d says Jenise Janse van Rensburg, Chairperson of AfriForum Youth\u2019s Maties branch.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIconic landmarks such as this nature reserve plays a big role in the history and student culture of Maties students.
