Black Lives Matter vs. All Lives Matter and Doublethink

Doublethink is a word that was created in George Orwell’s book 1984. It is a process of indoctrination where the person or group is expected to accept as true that which is untrue, or to accept as correct two mutually contradicting beliefs, often contrary to one’s own recollections or sense of reality, by ignoring or rewriting facts.

This week, President Cyril Ramaphosa said all murders, and therefore all lives, matter. This came shortly after he had expressed his support for the Black Lives Matter (BLM) group. Rachel Kolisi, wife of the rugby player Siya Kolisi, said All Lives Matter (ALM) “stinks of white privilege”.

Does this mean that President Ramaphosa, according to her, now also has “white privilege”?

BLM supporters in the US shot and killed a young mother of 24 after she had said all lives matter. So, is Ramaphosa now pro-BLM or pro-ALM, seeing that the BLM and the leftist groups and individuals in South Africa apparently believe one cannot support both.

A cofounder of the BLM movement described herself as a trained Marxist and communist. The theory is clear that the objective of communism is to overthrow capitalism by means of a revolution. During the illegal occupation of the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone (CHAZ) in Seattle, demonstrators said they were prepared to do everything it took to achieve their objective. Communism is also focusing on wiping out history, religion, personal property and freedom of speech.

The BLM has already destroyed numerous statues, vandalised churches and committed theft, which is viewed as an “unplanned donation”.

Freedom of speech now also is being curtailed, especially by tertiary institutions and media houses who perceive some opinions and terms as problematic and embarrassing (the “safe space” idea).

The cherry on top is the BLM’s policy during the occupation of CHAZ. Readers will recall how these and other leftist elements in the US condemned the wall along the southern border of the country, calling it racist. Yet a wall was one of the first infrastructural changes they brought about to keep away people they did not like. They also supported disarmament of the US for years and now they want the police to be abolished or police funding to be cut drastically. Yet a group of armed security guards also was one of the first changes they made, and one of the first murders committed was that of a black 16-year old. A 14-year old, among others, was wounded.

Most of the people I have spoken to who support the BLM do so on the grounds of what this movement says and what the media have been reporting on it. Of course, the actions listed above and their ideology are not carried by the agenda-driven media houses. Most of these people support the BLM out of kind-heartedness, thinking that what the BLM says is true. Unfortunately, this is not the case. Explain to a BLM supporter what is being propagated by this organisation and point out its actions, rather than criticising such a person.

Forward this article and use the facts to convince them.

AfriForum Youth’s point of view is that the death of any innocent person is wrong. However, when “race” or any other similar word is used with the word “justice”, it is not justice any more but the death of innocent people being used to promote a political agenda.
